We are a family-owned business that designs, manufactures and supplies modern armchairs, sofas and beds, all upholstered in top-quality cold cure foam and/or down.
Our mission is to create furniture in a modern, classic design that brings pleasure and comfort into people’s lives.
The company is known in the furniture industry as being highly innovative, and as the developer and owner of various patented techniques that improve the user’s comfort.
A wide range of customisation options are available for each piece of furniture, in terms of both design and comfort.
At Hjort Knudsen, optimising production is always a high priority. This applies across the board, from the first sketches to purchasing, manufacture and delivery. We are constantly focused on achieving the best possible quality for the best possible price. This is how we create value for our customers – both now and in the future.
We deliver our furniture to our customers using both our own lorries and via container-based sales.
Our head office is located in West Jutland in Denmark, close to Billund Airport.

Quality
The manufacture of a piece of upholstered furniture is still carried out according to traditional artisan principles.
All our furniture is produced at Hjort Knudsen’s own manufacturing plants in Europe, where 2600 skilled employees daily create chairs, sofas and beds from start to finish. This is also where we test our furniture and sub-components for long-term durability.
Our employees follow our high standards and the final quality control checks ensure that the furniture passes these high standards. An upholstered piece of furniture that partially consists of cold cure foam and fabrics can however have small variations – this is a sign of true craftsmanship.
Hjort Knudsen has chosen to manufacture components for the furniture itself, in order to control the quality and security of supply as best as possible. This is why we produce our own moulded seats/cushions, for example, as well as our own steel and wooden frames.
We regularly invest in the latest technologies, machinery, production facilities and not least skilled employees to future-proof quality and durability in the products.
